Who remembers George and Jane Jetson? These fictional animated characters had two kids, a puppy named “Astro” and the somewhat outdated android, “Rosie”. Jane was an admirable wife and mother, however by all accounts, we are led to think that she never worked over a sizzling stove cooking meals; she simply pushed a button and breakfast was prepared. Now and again, we saw her young child, Elroy, zoom in and “put away” a whole meal by ingesting a capsule no larger than a standard vitamin capsule, prior to gliding away again.
Elroy’s out-of-this-galaxy approach to eating dinner appears to be the remedy for today’s speedy-paced world. Maybe it’s my zeal for outer space, or perhaps it is simply my passion for retro cartoons, but I have been keenly watching the supermarket shelves for any indication of Elroy’s advanced ‘miniaturized dinner’. If you’re like me, you completely fancy eating a delicious meal, but there are more occasions than not that I’d choose to “slug back” my meal inside a couple of seconds so that I can continue going with my night…or my day. Some may very well say that I am experiencing ‘Elroy Envy’. The closest products I’ve seen are the liquid protein vials. They are not exactly as tiny as a vitamin capsule, and they are not a full course meal – that might be what is coming next on the revolutionary horizon — however, they are definitely a move in the proper direction.
